The Group of Seven

I have written this week about Tom Thomson, Lewran Harris and JEH MacDonald but there were others in the group who may not have been so outstanding but still produced outstanding art.

One of these was Fredrick Varley who together with Arthur Lismer trained in art school in Sheffield. Varley works tend to be portraits but with that same loose style. Below are two more typical Canadian lanscapes by Franklin Carmichael.
