Sketches of Spain

No not a post on that wonderful Miles Davis Album of tghe same name but my sketches of dancers i took with my to Soller this month.

I have already created two paintings from the collection and maybe more to come. Friends certainly like the first lady and the one with the castanets. I am drawn to the sensuality of the couple dancing which certainly did it for me.

There is one twist which is the couple dancing the traditional Folk Dance which happens many times in the Square in Soller and is performed by old and young alike. Its very Celtic in many ways and very different. Perhaps i should paint that?
