Dancers in Soller

My latest painting of the local dancers in Soller.

The men wear bandannas, blouson shirts, waistcoats, sash waistbands and pantloon pants over white stockings. The women full length skirts, white head scarves, often aprons and dark tops. The dancing is reminiscent of Celtic traditional reels accompanied by drums, guitars and their own bagpipes. Some may think it was Breton.

What is apparent is the love of the community to retain Solleric heritage and culture.
